6-strands

Air, waste, biomass, energy, earth and water form the six strands of sustainability that weave through every project of ours.

Earth: One of BCIL's Six Strands Philosophy of Design

Earth : : We avoid bricks as they employ precious topsoil and use 400 deg C energy. Instead we use use alternate materials like soil stabilized blocks, besser blocks which use lesser concrete and blocks that use waste materials like fly ash.

Energy: One of BCIL's Six Strands Philosophy of Design
Energy : : We are sensitive to embodied energy and active energy use on consumption, apart from engineering active and passive elements resulting in energy savings for our buildings

Water: One of BCIL's Six Strands Philosophy of Design
Water : : We use infrastructure approaches and plans that help communities manage their own water and waste water. We enable them to reduce their fresh water use

Waste: One of BCIL's Six Strands Philosophy of Design
Waste : : We ensure that homes in our residential communities assume responsibility for managing solid waste

Air: One of BCIL's Six Strands Philosophy of Design
Air : : We work with passive cooling and active cooling systems that are energy-efficient and ozone non-depleting

Biomass: One of BCIL's Six Strands Philosophy of Design
Biomass : : We use bimass to improve the microclimate of a land zone in a way that reduces demands on home cooling
