BCIL launches green houses
Biodiversity Conservation of India (BCIL) has launched a project with 100-plus homes for securing Carbon Credits for all its resident families on the city outskirts.
BCIL CEO Chandrashekhar Hariharan told reporters here today that project 'BCIL Collective' would offer several new features and benefits to customers that reduce carbon dioxide emission, both in the building process and by way of daily-living in these homes.
The carbon values are mapped on the bases of differences in carbon emission between regular materials used for airconditioning and natural daylighting, he said.
''BCIL, a city-based construction company, offers around 100 homes with an average of under 40 homes in an acre against the market norm of 65 homes for an acre to ensure a better use of natural resources,'' he said.
The unique feature of the residential campus is low maintenance and low-cost energy saving and ecologically sustainable airconditioner system.
